The Lone Tree Spirit Foundation is a registered 501c3 non-profit corporation founded in 2003 by former staff, campers, and Arrowmen with the mission to support the continued operation of Lone Tree Scout Reservation and Scouting in New England. Partnering with the council’s that have owned the camp, the camp administration and the properties committee, over the past 20 years the foundation has funded dozens of projects, equipment purchases, and improvements to Lone Tree Scout Reservation and donated thousands of dollars to the local council’s Campership Fund. Your donations to LTSF are tax deductible and our costs are extremely low. Nearly all operating costs are absorbed by members of the foundation’s executive committee which means your dollars go directly to supporting program elements and capital improvement projects that the foundation undertakes. The foundation partnered directly with the camp administration to fund programs that impact the youth experience in camp.
The foundation was a chartered partner with the BSA and Spirit of Adventure Council for Venture Crew 345, the home of the 2017-2018 National Venturing President, Michelle Merritt. The foundation was also the charted organization for Sea Scout Ship 1791 based out of Newburyport, MA. The ship is one of only two units offering this unique Scouting experience in Spirit of Adventure Council, BSA.
The foundation historically operated two events each year: the first is our spring 45’s tournament which serves as a fundraiser for the foundation and a fun night out for people to play the unofficial card game of the Merrimack Valley. The second event is our fall Spirit Day and reunion. Currently, the Foundation only hosts the 45’s tournament. Find out more information on these events HERE.
With the sale of Lone Tree in 2023, the LTSF has moved to supporting scouting by supporting local units camping locally.
